Neurophysiotherapy

Neurophysiotherapy

Who are we?

At Home Rehab Therapists we have a team of specialist neurological physiotherapists with a minimum of fifteen years’ experience in our field. We are committed to provide the best service to our clients with Neurological conditions and we are focused on boosting their independence to maximise their quality of living. We aim to increase their ability to continue living in their own environment with as little support as possible and to help them achieve their personal goals and objectives.

Home Rehab Therapists offer a unique and bespoke intensive rehabilitation package in the community and we back up our services with a specialist team of Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Medical Consultants and Speech and Language Therapists if there is a need to.

Neuromain

What we do?

Neurological Physiotherapy is the treatment of clients who have injuries that affected the nervous system and that lead to neurological impairments such as: Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Spinal Cord Injury and Cerebral Palsy.

Initially a neurological assessment is required to assess your impairments, to set up your initial goals and to develop a schedule for your treatment. Our team can provide different modalities of physiotherapy including: Balance and coordination re-education, Bobath Concept, Acupuncture, Hydrotherapy, Neurology Injections (Ultrasound Guided Botulinum Toxin Injections), Functional Electrical Stimulation, Functional Rehabilitation, Splinting and Casting, Wheelchair and Mobility aids specialist service, Spasticity Management, Fatigue Management, Mobility Practice, and Posture and Seating Improvements. Our aim is to work proactively to avoid any secondary complications that will delay your recovery and then to focus on the main impairment with a targeted and functional approach that will lead to optimal recovery.

Once your short-term goals are achieved, neuro-physiotherapy treatment can be used to maintain and enhance your progress. If this means joint working or longer sessions, then this can be arranged. We are also happy to work with other healthcare professions to be able to provide a rounded approach to your physiotherapy needs. This may consist of teaching carers to be able to complete a daily exercise program or guidance on transfer technique and handling.

When clients present with progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease or Multiple Sclerosis, we aim to provide advice and treatment during each stage of the condition. If early intervention is provided, it can help during the progression of the condition and reduce the degree of secondary complications. In some cases, clients can still make physical gains with improvements in posture, muscle strength and flexibility helping to improve their functional independence and their quality of life.
